Austin AzTex Al Pastor
By Lightning Striker and the Diving Headers
The Austin Aztex visit the nessy with their new CEO, Djorn Bucholz (will he sing the anthem?). I'm breaking out a new recipe for Al Pastor, some of the best food we ate in Mexico City last August when a squad of over a dozen of the 1st Minnesota Volunteers made the trip to see the USA play the World Cup Qualifier at the Azteca.
Carving Al Pastor in our favorite place in Mexico City
Torta Al Pastor with Citrus Soda

More recipes to follow, but I'm going to buy the Al Pastor by the pound at a market on Concord Street in St. Paul.

What do you want: Tacos Al Pastor, Fajitas Al Pastor or Tortas Al Pastor.

What is Al Pastor you ask?  Al Pastor is Mexican marinated pork that has a little hint from pineapple that drizzles down the meat when sliced; and served with onions, peppers, queso fresco, avocado, lettuce and tomatoes on tortillas (tacos) or toasted bun (tortas)

1st Minnesota Volunteers enjoyed Al Pastor and so much more of the great food in Mexico City.
