Saint Paul, Minn. (August 27, 2008) -- The Minnesota Thunder announced today that two-time USL Second Division Defender of the Year, Mark Schulte, has joined the club on loan from the Cleveland City Stars for the remainder of the season. Schulte recently guided the City Stars team he captained to the USL Second Division Championship on Saturday night, beating the Charlotte Eagles 2-1. To free up a roster spot, forward Alen Marcina has been transferred to the Rochester Rhinos for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Tampa, Fla. (August 15, 2008) -- United Soccer Leagues issued the Rochester Rhinos a deduction of one point in the 2008 USL First Division standings and an undisclosed fine on Friday for the use of an ineligible player. Additionally, Andrew Gregor will serve a suspension for the game against the Thunder on August 13.
